Gulf Hammock Solo Hunt Jan1,2011

Solo Gulf Hammock hunt. Just me, Monkey and two young dogs.

I took Monkey, my young female Scarlet and my yard dog Cricket on a solo hunt in Gulf Hammock. Monkey pulled out and bayed about 1/2 mile from me. I put Cricket on a leash as she is almost straight catch, but as I got close my female Scarlet went to Monkey. I heard her get there, a catch, then Scarlet went to baying which meant Monkey had the hog caught by himself. I turned Cricket to them from about 150 yards away and she got there quick. Turned out to be a big sow, lucky for me as I was fighting the flu and not feeling up to wrestling a bad hog by myself!
